Specific Pump Power (SPP) is a metric in fluid dynamics that quantifies the energy-efficiency of pump systems. It is a measure of the electric power that is needed to operate a pump (or collection of pumps), relative to the volume flow rate. It is not constant for a given pump, but changes with both flow rate and pump pressure.
Kirloskar Brothers Limited Kirloskarvadi; Kirloskar Brothers Limited Kirloskarvadi-Palus, SPP Pumps (UK), Braybar Pumps Ltd., (South Africa) and Kolhapur Steels Ltd. [3] [4] Kirloskar Brothers produces Centrifugal pumps from 0.1 kW to 26 mega-watts single pumps, pumping liquids in excess of 35,000 liters/sec thus producing some of the largest pumps by size and horsepower.
The Pulsometer steam pump is a pistonless pump which was patented in 1872 [1] by American Charles Henry Hall. In 1875 a British engineer bought the patent rights of the Pulsometer [2] and it was introduced to the market soon thereafter. The invention was inspired by the Savery steam pump invented by Thomas Savery.
