Grand Army Plaza (formerly Fifth Avenue Plaza and Central Park Plaza) is a public square at the southeast corner of Central Park in Manhattan, New York City, near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Central Park South (59th Street). It consists of two rectangular plots on the west side of Fifth Avenue between 58th and 60th streets.
It is a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m 2) state of the art entertainment center consisting of two theaters with a total seating capacity of 398, rehearsal studios, contemporary lobbies, WiFi, two bars with cabaret-style seating and two merchandise stands. There are two stages, the Anne L. Bernstein Theater and the Jerry Orbach Theater.
The station is served by two New York City Subway stations and multiple bus routes. The Grand Army Plaza station ( 2 and 3 trains), built in 1920 on the IRT Eastern Parkway Line , is on the north end of the Plaza, while the Seventh Avenue station ( B and Q trains) on the BMT Brighton Line is several blocks northwest.
