This is an allegorical movie, using tanks as a backdrop for conversation about Nazism and Europe's responsibility. The Tiger tank itself during the movie is obviously a prop, it barely resembles an actual Tiger, but that's not the point. It's more of a "white whale" metaphor, and also a stand-in for Nazism itself.
