Clinton is located in central Hickman County at (36.667040, -88.994103 U.S. Route 51 passes through the center of town as Washington Street, leading north 30 miles (48 km) to Cairo, Illinois, and south 14 miles (23 km) to Fulton on the Tennessee border.
Hickman County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,521, [1] making it the third-least populous county in Kentucky. Its county seat is Clinton. [2] The county was formed in 1821. [3] It is the least densely populated county in the state and is a prohibition or dry county.
Note: The Caverna Independent Schools district includes a portion of northwest Barren County, as well as a part of southern Hart County. The district's headquarters and its elementary school are in Cave City, in Barren County, while its middle and high school is located in Horse Cave, in Hart County.
