Mark's text on the purpose of the Sabbath, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath, [3] is not repeated in Luke. [4]
This same material also appears at Luke 6:12–13 and Luke 9:1. [1] Matthew also introduces the group of twelve later in his narrative than the other gospel writers.
