Luke 22 is the twenty-second chapter of the Gospel of Luke in the New Testament of the Christian Bible.It commences in the days just before the Passover or Feast of Unleavened Bread, and records the plot to kill Jesus Christ; the institution of the Lord's Supper; and the Arrest of Jesus and his trial before the Sanhedrin.
In the King James Version of the Bible (KJV) the text reads: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. The New International Version (NIV) translates the passage as: He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

[1] [2] Bread was the basic food stuff of the people in Palestine of this era. Rocks were, as today, considered valueless. The basic metaphor of this verse is that a human father would not refuse a basic desire from his son, so God too would not refuse a basic need of one of his followers.
The picture part is a woman making bread with leaven, the reality part is the kingdom of God, and the point of comparison is the powerful growth of the kingdom from small beginnings. Although leaven symbolises evil influences elsewhere in the New Testament (see Luke 12:1 ), [ 2 ] it is not generally interpreted that way in this parable.
