The larger parcel is located partially in Hanover Township and partially in Independence Township.The smaller parcel, 6.2 acres (2.5 ha) in extant is about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) west of the main parcel, located adjacent to the western edge of Raccoon Creek State Park also in Hanover Township.

Hopewell Township is located along the southeastern boundary of Beaver County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 17.0 square miles (44.0 km 2), of which 16.8 square miles (43.4 km 2) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 km 2), or 1.40%, is water.
