L.O. Daniel is a neighborhood in northern Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas. Winnetka Heights is now a culturally diverse and vibrant neighborhood. The Winnetka Heights Historic District is located two miles from downtown Dallas, south of the Trinity River. With over 600 houses, Winnetka Heights is the second largest historic district in Dallas and one of the largest in the state of Texas.
The conservation district was established in 1988 by Dallas Ordinance 19910, and governs zoning, renovations and replacements, setbacks, etc. Replacement houses are required to meet standards making them similar to the surrounding houses and houses of the period, discouraging teardowns and preventing modern suburban-style architecture.
