The First Youth Forum of Azerbaijan was held on February 2, 1996, by the initiative of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan and by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. About 2000 delegates from all regions of the Republic participated in the forum.
On 3 May 2017, a delegation led by Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef Al-Othaimeen met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
