It would be great if PayPal sent out warnings to their customers regularly to warn them about possible scams. I received the same bitcoin email today--just junk!!

I received an email with the PayPal logo on it stating I made a bitcoin purchase from CoinBase for $548.15 (I did not) and that the charge mode would be from my my debit checking account. It stated, "Your transaction has been successfully processed! Your coins will be available once it is confirmed!!"

Beware of the PayPal/ Bitcoin scam. Yesterday, I recieved two seperate invoices in my private email account from PayPal (for $499.30 each) reading that they were for purchases of Bitcoin thru PayPal. On the invoice, it stated to call this 888 number if you did not order the Bitcoin in order to contact PayPal security.
I didn't get the notice through gmail, but I received an invoice today through PayPal from Pavan Pavan/Bitcoin exchange for $499.30. I called the number at the bottom to dispute and within a few minutes knew I was not talking with a legitimate PayPal person. They wanted me to go to the app store and download an app beginning with "eny".
Even if the payment is subject to a PayPal hold, you’ll still see record of payment in your account. They are trying to scam you of $200 in btc and more, if they can. Do not pay it. If you do, they’ll do a disappearing act, leaving you sitting there waiting and waiting for payment or going broke because they’ll keep asking for more money.
