Andhra Pradesh (ISO: Āndhra Pradēś, Telugu pronunciation: [aːndʱɾɐ pɾɐdeːʃ]; code: AP) is a state on the east coast of southern India. It is the seventh-largest state and the tenth-most populous in the country.
The core territory of Andhradesa encompassed Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. At its zenith, the Andhradesa extended its influence over parts of present-day Maharashtra, Odisha, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. [citation needed] The Āndhras were an ancient non-Aryan tribe who lived around the deltas of the Godāvarī and Kṛṣṇa rivers.
