Notre Dame Academy is a Pre-K through 12 Catholic school in Duluth, Georgia. It is operated independently from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. It was established in 2005. Previously it was a PK–8 school. [1] The groundbreaking for the high school building, on a 21-acre (8.5 ha) plot, occurred in 2014. [2]

Konzen returned to the Marist School in Brookhaven in 1999 to serve as principal and then as president until 2018. He assisted in the founding of Notre Dame Academy and Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School in Atlanta. In 2015, Konzen received the Educational Excellence Award of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). [1] [2]

The Academy of Notre Dame was established in 1854 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Lowell, Massachusetts. The boarding school outgrew that location and moved to rural Tyngsboro, on land formerly belonging to actress Nance O'Neil, in 1927. The school phased out boarding in the 1960s. [2]
