A small finger wheel makes precise adjustments, a side button frees the base for big moves, and a big lever locks the base firmly. Smooth, powerful performer. An extralarge accessory base is included for added support when the router hangs over an edge, and deep cuts are easy in the hardest woods. Nimble on narrow edges.
Milwaukee - 5625-20 Fixed-Base Router. Milwaukee's 3-1/2 hp fixed-base router features electronic variable speed, soft-start, an extra set of handles, and a built-in router lift. As shipped, this router had U-shaped handles. But a pair of palm-grip knobs also was included. To change from one to the other is just a matter of turning a few screws.
I purchased a Milwaukee 2 1/4 hp combo router kit but can’t seem to find an edge guide for it. It has the mouning holes for an edge guide but I can’t find one…I’ve looked on the Milwaukee website (not the easiest to navigate) but I can’t seem to find anything.
I just talked with a customer service rep. at Milwaukee. The rep. said your router will work with: Porter Cable 42222. Porter Cable 5043. Porter Cable 42700. Best, Gerald La Starza. Fine Woodworking. shauntiago | Jan 20, 2009 03:24am | #2.
Milwaukee recently introduced a 1-3/4-hp fixed-base router, model 5615-20 (model 5615-21 is the same router with a storage case). And, as I soon discovered during a hands-on test, this is not your father’s Milwaukee router. For starters, my average-sized mitts found the soft-grip handles more comfortable than handles on most other routers.
Milwaukee - 5616-24 Router Combo Kit. Joining the pack of combo-kit makers (see FWW #173, pp. 50-55), Milwukee has introduced model 5616-24. With its 2-1/4-hp, 13-amp, variable-speed motor (adjustable from 10,000 to 24,000 rpm), the Milwaukee is a powerful, versatile tool that can handle just about any cutting challenge.
Milwaukee 5616-24 13amp 2 1/4 combo kit. The reviews are all raving about this router. #3. Bosch 1617 EVSPk combo kit… that also got favourable reviews. Editors choise and people’s pick. #4. Dewalt 618 dedicatd 2 1/4 plunge router. I’ve read some good reviews and some not so good reviews on this router.
Tighten the clamp knobs. With the fences hugging the workpiece, you can slide the router back and forth on the rods to center the bit over your layout marks. When it looks good, tighten the lock screws on the rods, and set the desired mortise depth on your plunge router. Rout the mortise in 1/4-in.-deep passes for best results, stopping by eye ...
Milwaukee Router Failure. A new Milwaukee 5625-20 router shuts down as soon as it gets to speed. It worked fine for about 1 minute. While taking a very thin, partial roundover cut it made a squeal then shut down. I attempted to reset it by turning the s/w off and restarting it.
