It is a 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-story wood-frame structure, with clapboard siding and a wide clipped-gable roof. A shed-roof porch extends across the front, supported by turned columns and simple decorative woodwork.

It is a single-story dog trot log structure, built c. 1895 by J. D. Abney. In 1902 it was bought by Will Reed, who lived there for fifty years. The house is now owned by the Little River County Historical Society, which operates it as a historical museum.
