The hotel, in 2017. The Churchill Hotel is a historic building on Bootham, north of the city centre of York in England. The building was constructed in about 1827 as a house, for Barbara Ashton Nelson. It replaced an earlier house, but was set further back from the road. [9] In 2013, an apart hotel, Adagio opened in the former Lewis's building in the side facing Ranelagh Street. [11]

[2] The building was bought by Centre Island Hotels in 2004 and refurbished to its current condition as a boutique hotel named “62 Castle Street”.
