The Muir Church of Christ is a single-story, rectangular, gray, wood-frame Gothic Church clad with board-and-batten siding on a low fieldstone foundation. The church measures 70 feet by 30 feet. It has a square central projecting entrance tower topped by a cross-gable-roof belfry, with double entry doors in the base.

Lightning struck the cathedral in 1901 and a fire destroyed part of the church building. It was rebuilt and expanded. Some of the wooden beams above the ceiling still show the charred marks from the fire. A television studio was created in the cathedral in the 1950s to televise a weekly Sunday Mass.
