Overall, this part of the manga doesn't explain Eren's character well enough. There are some controversial lines and Armin is too passive throughout the whole thing. Those who liked the ending think that the anime improved it, but those who hated it think that it made it even worse. In the manga, we're shown skeletons of Colossal Titans.
However, as a medium for telling a story, anime is better than manga. At least it should be. It's literally just manga with colour, music, voice acting, motion, sound effects, aesthetic/style via openings and closings, episodic, etc. Because the AoT manga was perfectly adapted, the anime is better. It's the same story.
So the anime is just absolutely amazing. That said, the manga is a great supplement to the anime. AOT is so complex that reading the manga and rewatching the series, imo, only helps me deepen my understanding and appreciation of the series
As a manga reader, once the ending hit, I, unfortunately, HATED AOT as it felt like everything went downhill so fast (from being rushed, to having plotholes or leaving stuff unexplained). However, once the anime returned (which I wasn't too excited about initially except for the action scenes) I was shocked.
If the post contains manga spoilers, then choose the "Manga Spoilers" flair. If the post is flaired "Season 4", do not discuss anything ending related. If you spoil someone, you'll be banned. Depending on the spoiler, the ban could be either temporary or permanent. IF YOU SEE INCORRECT FLAIRS OR SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS, MAKE SURE TO REPORT THEM.
Flair any Season 3 Part 2 posts or anything beyond that (S4, manga), otherwise your post will be removed. SEASON 4 TAG IS NOT THE SAME AS MANGA TAG (IF IT WASN'T SHOWN IN ANIME YET, DO NOT SPOIL OTHER USERS, TAG IT AS MANGA SPOILERS!!!) If you spoil someone, you'll be banned. Depending on the spoiler, the ban could be either temporary or permanent.
Well I was bored so I checked everything from AoT at MyAnimeList and put a list together of every Media released in a Chronological Way, not Story wise. This should be the safest route of watching and reading everything from AoT. There are quite some of Media that you rarely find online: these are marked as Not available.
I'm a manga person as well and have been following the aot manga for a few years now. I would recommend the aot anime for season 1-3. As said isayama starts off as not a great artist and it can be hard to get into it at first. The anime fixes it and is praised a lot for it's art and action.
Everything we have seen from the moment Eren woke up in Chapter 1 of the AOT main manga is a result of Eren's wish being fulfilled. This parallels the plot of Muv Luv, the game we know Isayama took great inspiration from. I then re-read the manga and re-watched the anime in an attempt to either prove/disprove this theory.
