Amorepacific Corporation (Korean: 주식회사 아모레퍼시픽) is a South Korean beauty and cosmetics chaebol, operating more than 30 beauty, personal care, and health brands including Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Etude, Aestura, Cosrx, AP Beauty, and Innisfree. [2]
By 2014, the company had over 80 stores in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and India. In the first half of 2014, Amore Pacific planned on boosting the brand's sales in Taipei and opened a second store months after launching in Taiwan, aiming to make Innisfree the country's biggest South Korean skincare and cosmetics brand. Laneige (Hangul: 라네즈) is a South Korean cosmetics brand launched by Amore Pacific in 1994. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Its name comes from the French " la neige ", which translates to "the snow". [ 3 ] The brand's flagship products include its Water Bank skin care line, Water Sleeping Mask, BB Cushion foundation and two-tone lipsticks .
The company was established in 1966 and the corporate name was changed to Oscar Corporation in 1985. In 1990, it was incorporated by Amore Pacific Group. The name was changed to Etude Corporation in 1997. [3] Etude House Seoul was launched in 2005. It opened its 100th brand store in 2007 and its 200th in 2009. [3]
The South Korean cosmetics company Amore Pacific created Mamonde in 1991. [2] In 2005, Mamonde was launched in China. [2] [3] By July 2013, its products were sold at 900 department stores and over 2,500 cosmetics stores in 270 cities in China. O'Sulloc Tea is a traditional Korean tea manufactured and sold by the South Korean company O'Sulloc. The company was founded in 1979 by Suh Sung-hwan. [1] O'Sulloc Corporation was established in September 2020 as an independent subsidiary of the Amorepacific Corporation, with 100% ownership. [2]
