VNU-HCM An Giang University (AGU; Vietnamese: Trường Đại học An Giang, Đại học Quốc gia Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) is a Vietnamese public university based in the city of Long Xuyen in An Giang Province.
VNU-HCM is one of two Vietnam's national universities, the other one being Vietnam National University, Hanoi. It ranks 201–250th in Asia according to the QS University Rankings 2020. In 2020, it was one of the first two Vietnamese universities to be included in the QS Global Ranking of Top 150 universities under 50 years old by 2021. [1]
In 1991, the university was relocated to Dong Tam ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi; and has remained there ever since. In 2014, the university planned for a new experimental facility in Ha Nam with an area of 24ha. In 2016, the construction of the H3 lecture hall was completed with a total area floor of 13000m²
The former name of Hanoi University is Hanoi University of Foreign Studies (Vietnamese: Đại học Ngoại Ngữ), which is different from the University of Languages and International Studies (directly under the management of Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
