YuYu Hakusho (Japanese: 幽☆遊☆白書, Hepburn: Yū Yū Hakusho) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.It tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while saving a child's life.
Yusuke Urameshi (浦飯 幽助, Urameshi Yūsuke) is a fourteen-year-old delinquent who attends Sarayashiki Junior High School. His poor school attendance, constant fighting, and bad habits have earned him the fear of his classmates and the disdain of his teachers and neighbors.

Yusuke Urameshi is informed that Koenma is hiding from the Spirit World for disobeying the direct order of having Yusuke erased from existence. Desperate to find a solution to his situation, Yusuke later visits Genkai, who advises him to go to the home of a former spirit detective named Kuroko, getting to know her children and husband as well as their talents.
While vacationing, Koenma is kidnapped by a pair of demons known as Koashura and Garuga, who demand the possession of Lord Enma's coveted "Golden Seal". Botan finds Yusuke Urameshi and Kazuma Kuwabara on their summer vacation as well, and asks for their assistance in Koenma's rescue.
