Historic home, Sycamore St., Decatur, Georgia. Sycamore Street was originally called Covington Road. It was a stagecoach route to Augusta through Covington, Madison and Eatonton. It contains some of the largest homes in Decatur, including the historic High House – the first two-story house built in the city.

[citation needed] In 2006, Allied Capital acquired Huddle House for $124.1 million. [4] In 2009, Ares Capital acquired Allied Capital. [5] In April 2012, Ares sold Huddle House to Sentinel Capital Partners. [6]
The house was built approximately 1850 (though the Junior League of Decatur claims it was built about 1820) and is one of the few extant pre-Civil War buildings in the area. [3] The house was entered into the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on May 6, 1975. [4] It is now named "716 West" and is used as a wedding/event venue.
