Ironton is a city in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 572 at the 2010 census. [4] It is part of the Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area. Ironton is located on the Cuyuna iron range, from which its name is derived. [5] It is immediately adjacent to its twin city of Crosby.

Crosby was built for the sole purpose of mining. It was named for George H. Crosby, a businessman in the mining industry.
