The Krungthep Bridge (Thai: สะพานกรุงเทพ, RTGS: Saphan Krung Thep, pronounced [sā.pʰāːn krūŋ tʰêːp]) is a bascule bridge (drawbridge) spanning the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok, Thailand. It was the third bridge to be built across the Chao Phraya river.

A series of decrees in 1971–1972 resulted in the merger of these provinces and its local administrations, forming the current city of Bangkok which is officially known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) was created in 1975 to govern the city, and its governor has been elected since 1985. [15]
The SRT Dark Red Line starts at the new Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal heading north for 26 km (16.16 mi) via Don Mueang and terminates at Rangsit in Pathum Thani Province. The line will then be extended 8.84 km (5.49 mi) north from Rangsit to the Thammasat University Rangsit campus.
Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal is also the location of Phahonyothin cargo yard. With an expanse of about 50 rail-tracks and sidings, it is the largest rail yard in the whole of Thailand. It is located about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from the station and is the main cargo yard for freight services around Thailand.
It connects to SRT Dark Red Line and SRT Light Red Line at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal located above the station. Its symbol color is blue. Bang Sue was the terminus of the MRT Blue Line between 2004 and 2017.
