The North Park Theatre is a historic single screen movie theatre in the North Park neighborhood of Buffalo, New York, United States. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It has functioned as a cinema since it opened on November 21, 1920.
The theatre company was founded in 1991 with their first production, The Night of January 16th, by Ayn Rand. In 1992 Black Rose moved into its present home and premiered with a production of The Fantastiks. [1] Since 1992, Black Rose has purchased the theatre it occupies on Black Street and received a 501(c)(3) designation. [2]
The Riley Center includes a theater which seats approximately 950 people, and a 200-seat studio theater. It also includes 30,000 sq ft (2,787 m 2 ) of meeting space for a conference center, with a large exhibit hall, break-out rooms, and board rooms.

Northlight Theatre was founded in 1974 by Gregory Kandel, along with Mike Nussbaum and Frank Galati, as the Evanston Theatre Company. Its first season in 1975-76 featured Jumpers by Tom Stoppard, directed by Galati. The theater's name was changed to Northlight Theatre in 1978 to better reflect its professional status. [1]
In the 1970s, the Lyric stopped operating as a movie theater and was abandoned for many years [quantify] until the 1980s, when it was restored and turned into a health center and office spaces. [citation needed] In 2007, the building went through major renovations and once again returned to a theater.
