Marblehead Little Theatre's first full-scale production was Moss Hart's Light up the Sky. While casting the show, relatives and friends were enlisted to help with production.

Harris and Glover Ware, two brothers and former vaudeville musicians from Marblehead, Massachusetts, built the Cabot eight years after the construction of their first Beverly theater, the Larcom Theatre.
