Carr's music is a blend of traditional gospel composition and vocals, with elements of R&B, jazz, soul, blues, and the distinct modern harmonies and singing styles found in urban contemporary gospel. The Kurt Carr Singers under his direction and musical influence have created seven albums.
Mountain was an American hard rock band formed on Long Island, New York, in 1969. [1] [2] Originally consisting of vocalist-guitarist Leslie West, bassist-vocalist Felix Pappalardi, keyboardist Steve Knight, and drummer N. D. Smart (soon replaced by Corky Laing), the group disbanded in 1972, but reunited on several occasions prior to West's death in 2020. [3]
In 1969, producer/vocalist/bassist Felix Pappalardi organized Mountain. [1] The initial line-up included Leslie West (guitar/vocals) and N.D. Smart (drums). [2] Prior to release of Mountain's debut album, Climbing!, Pappalardi, who had known Knight from prior musical affiliations, added him to the line-up on keyboards. [3]

"Climb Ev'ry Mountain" is a show tune from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music. It is sung at the close of the first act and is sung again in the epilogue of the second act by the Mother Abbess.
