Trimble–Parker Historic Farmstead District is a historic farm located in Davis County, Iowa, United States near the county seat of Bloomfield. The well-preserved farm buildings exemplify an early 20th-century stock farm in Iowa. [2] The various stock buildings were built between 1901 and 1952. They housed a variety of stock types.
The true round barn measures 50 feet (15 m) in diameter. Frank Silvers, a successful hog breeder and businessman, operated the largest Hampshire hog farm in the world. The Z.T. Dunham Pioneer Stock Farm, also known as the Dunham Horse Barn, is a historic barn located northwest of Dunlap, Iowa, United States. The 40-by-44-foot (12 by 13 m) brick structure with a gable roof was built by Z.T. Dunham and his brother Sam. [2] The brothers were partners in a farming operation left to them in their father's estate.
The wooden porches on the front and back of the house date from 1898 to 1900. The large barn measures 61 by 46 feet (19 by 14 m), and was built in 1856. [2] It is composed of board and batten construction from oak that was milled on the site. It was used largely as a granary, rather than a shelter for farm animals.
