Prince George's County (often shortened to PG County or PG) [2] [3] is located in the U.S. state of Maryland bordering the eastern portion of Washington, D.C. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the population was 967,201, [5] making it the second-most populous county in Maryland, behind neighboring Montgomery County.
District 6 is a district in the Texas House of Representatives. It was created in the 3rd legislature (1849–1851). The district has been represented by Republican Daniel Alders since 2025. It was previously held by Matt Schaefer since January 8, 2013, upon his initial election to the Texas House. [1]
The district is represented for the 2023–2027 legislative term in the State Senate by Joanne C. Benson (D) and in the House of Delegates by Tiffany T. Alston (D), Andrea Fletcher Harrison (D) and Jazz M. Lewis (D). [6] [7]
As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 125,974, of whom 98,881 (78.5%) were of voting age.The racial makeup of the district was 6,635 (5.3%) White, 103,109 (81.8%) African American, 572 (0.5%) Native American, 1,878 (1.5%) Asian, 13 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 7,548 (6.0%) from some other race, and 6,188 (4.9%) from two or more races.
