Pterourus bjorkae is a species of butterfly belonging to the swallowtail family (Papilionidae), discovered and described in 2024 by entomologist Harry Pavulaan. [1] [2] The species name, bjorkae, honors Icelandic singer, songwriter, and environmentalist Björk, to recognize her artistic influence and her contributions to environmental awareness.

Jeffrey Glassberg is an American biologist and author. Following a distinguished academic career he pioneered and patented work in DNA Fingerprinting. [1] [2] Later he founded the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) [3]: 22–27 [4]: 32 and is the leading proponent of moving interest in butterflies from hobbyist collecting and nets to butterflying with binoculars and cameras.

It is found from southern Mexico north to central Texas and central Arizona in the United States. [1] The wingspan is 22–32 mm (0.87–1.26 in). Adults are on wing from April to October. There are several generations per year. [1]
