He recommended four redwood areas for parks, including three areas that became Prairie Creek Redwoods, Del Norte Coast Redwoods, and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parks.
This group of parks (which includes Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, and Redwood National Park) has been collectively designated as a World Heritage Site and forms a part of the California Coast Ranges International Biosphere Reserve. [1]
The other parks include the Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, and Redwood National Park. The 10,430-acre (4,220 ha) park was established in 1929 [ 2 ] and designated part of the California Coast Ranges International Biosphere Reserve in 1983.
