The Marshall University Rural Health Clinic, also called the MU Rural Health Center, is a division of the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine of Marshall University [1] that opened in May 2012. It is located in Chapmanville, West Virginia .
The Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center biotechnology research and teaching structure on the campus of Marshall University along 3rd Avenue in Huntington, West Virginia. It is named after longtime U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd , who was a proponent for the project and helped receive funding for its construction.
First year students mainly attend classes on-campus in the Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center (Marshall University) and also take anatomy classes and use library resources at the Robert W. Coon Medical Education Building, located seven miles from campus at the Huntington Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) Medical Center.
Byrd's mother, Ada Mae Kirby. Robert Byrd was born on November 20, 1917, as Cornelius Calvin Sale Jr. [12] in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to Cornelius Calvin Sale and his wife Ada Mae (Kirby). [13] When he was ten months old, his mother died on Armistice Day [14] during the 1918 flu pandemic.
