The Khao Yai area is a resort destination in Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand. It covers the south of the district, adjacent to Khao Yai National Park . The highest mountain in the area of the park is 1,351 m high Khao Rom. Since 1991 the park itself has been closed to overnight visitors. This is incorrect. The commercial overnight hotels were closed in 1992 - but the park itself offers simple overnight dormitories for visitors. And by simple I mean wooden floor with en-suite rats. Great park though.
