The C4 model is a lean graphical notation technique for modeling the architecture of software systems. [1] [2] It is based on a structural decomposition (a hierarchical tree structure) of a system into containers and components and relies on existing modelling techniques such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) or entity–relationship diagrams ...
The entity–relationship model proposes a technique that produces entity–relationship diagrams (ERDs), which can be employed to capture information about data model entity types, relationships and cardinality. A Crow's foot shows a one-to-many relationship. Alternatively a single line represents a one-to-one relationship. [4]
Consequently, the ER model becomes an abstract data model, [1] that defines a data or information structure that can be implemented in a database, typically a relational database. Entity–relationship modeling was developed for database and design by Peter Chen and published in a 1976 paper, [ 2 ] with variants of the idea existing previously ...

A Bachman diagram is a certain type of data structure diagram, [2] and is used to design the data with a network or relational "logical" model, separating the data model from the way the data is stored in the system. The model is named after database pioneer Charles Bachman, and mostly used in computer software design.
The relational model was introduced by E.F. Codd in 1970 [2] as a way to make database management systems more independent of any particular application. It is a mathematical model defined in terms of predicate logic and set theory , and implementations of it have been used by mainframe, midrange and microcomputer systems.
A meta model is a model of the constructs of a modeling system. Like any model, it is used to represent and reason about the subject of the model - in this case IDEF1X. The meta model is used to reason about IDEF1X, i.e., what the constructs of IDEF1X are and how they relate to one another. The model shown is an IDEF1X model of IDEF1X.
The enhanced entity–relationship (EER) model (or extended entity–relationship model) in computer science is a high-level or conceptual data model incorporating extensions to the original entity–relationship (ER) model, used in the design of databases.
