Our Lady Peace (sometimes shortened to OLP) [1] [2] is a Canadian alternative rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1992. [3] Led by lead vocalist Raine Maida since its formation, the band currently also features Duncan Coutts on bass, Steve Mazur on guitars, and Jason Pierce on drums.

Raine Maida is the vocalist and a founding member of the Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace. Maida started the band with guitarist Mike Turner in 1992. Especially on the albums prior to Gravity, he often sang in a high, nasal voice. This singing style, along with Maida's cryptic lyrics, became one of the features of Our Lady Peace's music.
Michael A. Turner (born June 5, 1963), also known as Emtee, is an English-born Canadian musician and producer.He is best known as the former lead guitarist and founding member of the band Our Lady Peace [1] and current member of alternative rock supergroup Crash Karma.
Before joining Our Lady Peace, he went to Ridley College and studied film at Toronto's Ryerson University, graduating from The University of Western Ontario in 1993. He lived in Saugeen-Maitland Hall at the University of Western Ontario along with fellow Our Lady Peace band member Mike Turner . [ 1 ]
In 1993, Jim Newell, Our Lady Peace's previous drummer, left the band due to commitment issues. The remaining members and their management held open auditions for his replacement. They auditioned over a hundred drummers, ultimately choosing Taggart, who was 17 at the time. [1] The band offered him the drumming position which Taggart accepted.

Mazur attended his first Our Lady Peace concert as a fan on July 10, 2001, at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.. Mazur replaced founding member Mike Turner as guitarist for Our Lady Peace during the recording of the band's fifth album, Gravity. [2]
