The solution is to find the IP Address of the host, and then use the use Direct Connect to connect to the server. To find your IP address on Mac, go to the Apple Logo button on the top left of the menu bar > About This Mac, and in that window that pops up there will be a button with the text "System Report".
To really do it go to run on your windows start menu. Then type in "cmd" without quotes. Then when the terminal thing pops type in "ipconfig" no spaces or quotes. Then where is says like IPv4 or what ever to the right of it is your ip. it usually starts with 192 or whatever they differ.
