EBay sold listings are a great resource. If you use the GAMEYE app, it automatically updates the value of your collection (and individual items) based on pricecharting data. It’s completely free and I can’t imagine tracking my collection without it.
Youll also find that range will be pretty close to the range you see on ebay sold items and more. A $100 item i value $75-120 or so. You will find the true range on pricecharting is likely a bit wider than that but those are "extremely pricey or cheap" sales so i like to disregard them. Make sure to consider item conditioning..
I use pricecharting for my collection, but I noticed something odd today. Out of curiosity I looked up the most high value original xbox stuff, and of course it started off with consoles, but very surprising if you sort by CIB games, near the top of the list is Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball platinum hits edition.
Use a combined pricecharting and ebay sold listing. Pricecharting can get stuff wrong. A good example is the game D (PS1 and Sega Saturn) due to the one letter game name pricecharting has the value low. (That and to pricecharting loose can mean one disc out of three as well) so Ebay sold listings is the way to go with it.
Does anyone know of any websites like PriceCharting but for books? Not comic books, but books in general, like Harry Potter books and that kind of stuff. I just want to see how much my book collection is worth, kinda like how I use Pricecharting to know how much my game collection is worth, and TCGPlayer to know how much my card collection is ...
Sadly pricecharting is missing lots of Japanese and European regional releases so there is a chunk of my collection I can't even log. Lobster Roll signature-less, now and forever™
