Leslie Stuart Durrell (born 10 March 1917, Mymensingh, Bengal, today Bangladesh; [15] [16] d. 13 August 1982, Kensington, London [17]). Remembered for his fascination with guns and shooting — as depicted in Gerald Durrell's Corfu trilogy — Leslie was also a talented painter, but lacked the application to develop his gift. [ 18 ]
