The Florida Complex League (FCL) is a rookie-level Minor League Baseball league that operates in Florida, United States. Before 2021, it was known as the Gulf Coast League ( GCL ). Together with the Arizona Complex League (ACL), it forms the lowest rung on the North American minor-league ladder.
On November 8, 2012, the Mets announced the re-establishment of a Gulf Coast League team based in Port St. Lucie. [2] The team has competed continuously since the 2013 season, except for the 2020 season, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the 2021 season, the Gulf Coast League was renamed as the Florida Complex League (FCL).
Florida Gulf Coast has fielded a baseball team since 2003 and, as of 2019, has an all-time record of 599–348–3 (a .631 winning percentage). [2] The Eagles play in Swanson Stadium in Fort Myers, Florida, which has a capacity of 1,500.
