The primary reason for constructing the line was the need for public transport to serve the newly-built large residential areas in the northwestern part of Stockholm, built during the period 1965–1975. The SL C30 is a type of subway train used in the Stockholm metro, Sweden. The first set of C30 carriages was inaugurated in 2020 on the Red line, and subsequently replaced all the older rolling stock dating back to the 1970s and 1980s. [4] Since then, 116 sets were delivered to Stockholm by Bombardier Transportation and subsequently by Alstom.
The Telefonplan–Fruängen section (lines 14 and 17) was built in 1946–1956 as a pre-metro, with high-level centre subway platforms and shorter, low-level tram platforms at the sides. This section is the same today.
