The Herring Motor Car Company Building, now known as 10th Street Lofts, is a historic building located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. The building is a six-story brick structure rising 90 feet (27 m) tall. [2] It was designed by the Des Moines architectural firm of Proudfoot, Bird & Rawson in the Classical Revival style.
The Chautauqua Park Historic District is located on the north side of Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1990. [ 1 ] It is part of the Suburban Development in Des Moines Between the World Wars, 1918--1941 MPS .
The commercial district at the intersection of Sixth and Forest Avenues is the largest suburban commercial node in the Des Moines area during the Victorian era. [2] It was located in the largest of the city's late-19th- and early-20th-century suburbs, North Des Moines. Land use in the district is clearly defined in the area.
Brown's Park continued for a while longer and the streetcar line from Des Moines opened in 1889. The historic district is the northwest section of a former suburb known as Greenwood Park. It was incorporated as a city in the area of Brown's Park in 1881, and in 1890 it was annexed into the city of Des Moines.

The Ingersoll Place Plat Historic District is located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States.It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2000. [1] The historic significance of the district is based on the concentration of bungalows and square houses as well as a mix of subtypes.
The Iowa State Fair was held in a different community every two years after it was first established. The first fair was held in Fairfield in 1854. The other towns that hosted the fair included Muscatine, Oskaloosa, Iowa City, Dubuque, Burlington, Clinton, Keokuk and Cedar Rapids. [2] The state fair moved to Des Moines permanently in 1878.
