Hey they actually sell Cracker Barrel brand “biscuit and dumpling mix” I haven’t tried but I’ve seen it in their gift shop id imagine it tastes the same, they give you the dough & broth recipe but I don’t know the rest of the recipe/ chicken.

Does Cracker Barrel add the chicken to the dumplings when you order it, or do they keep two separate pots.. one with chicken and one without? I need to know if asking to pay for extra chicken is a legitimate request, or I’m going to be asking them to literally dig through a pot for chicken. (Which they wouldn’t do, obviously, bc of portions)

Chicken and dumplings varies a lot depending of where you get it or who makes it. Had dinner yesterday at CB for the first time in two years. I feel like they have not only changed the portion size but the recipe of the chicken fried steak. The portion was definitely much smaller and the batter/crispy coating was very different. I did not like the taste and texture at all. I barely ate 1/4 of it before I gave up.
