Finborough School is a co-educational independent school. It is situated in and around Finborough Hall , in the village of Great Finborough , near Stowmarket , Suffolk , England. History
The school's catchment area includes Great Finborough and the neighbouring village of Buxhall; places are offered first to children from the two villages and then to others from beyond the catchment area up to the school's intake limit. The primary school is a feeder for Stowmarket High School, to which pupils transfer at the age of 11.

The school accommodates 855 students from school years 7 to 11. Previously a community school administered by Suffolk County Council, in September 2018 Stowmarket High School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Waveney Valley Academies Trust. The school no longer has a sixth-form as of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Stowmarket High School was founded in 1909. On 8 June 1918, the first UK astronomical observation of nova V603 Aquilae [7] was made from Stowmarket by A. Grace Cook. History repeated itself on 13 December 1934 when amateur astronomer J. P. M. Prentice discovered DQ Herculis [8] from the town.
The school closed down in December 2006, [2] after the Rapsey family (the owners) completed a deal with the nearby Finborough School which involved many staff and pupils, and much of the equipment, moving to the Finborough School site, [1] and Walnutree Manor was sold. At the time of closure, there were fewer than 100 pupils at the school. [1]
