It is the oldest independent school in Michigan. Founded in 1851 in Detroit, the Academy moved to its 28-acre (110,000 m 2) campus in Bloomfield Township in 1958. It is a Catholic, college-preparatory school for young women from infancy through Grade 12 and for boys from infancy through Grade 8 of many cultures and faiths.
The high school, called Academy of the Americas High School (Spanish: Escuela Preparatoria Academia de las Américas), began in the 2014–2015 year with ninth grade students enrolled. As of 2014 it was one of two senior high school programs in southwest Detroit, along with Western International High School . [ 2 ]
The school was originally located on Harper Avenue in Detroit with an enrollment of 280 students; the school has made several moves in its history and now has an enrollment of over 1,000 students at its 60-acre (240,000 m 2) campus in Novi. Detroit Catholic Central is currently ranked as the 4th best Catholic High School in the State of Michigan.

The high school opened to 9th grade students in 2008 and students can enroll in 3 year old pre-school through 12th grade for the 2017–2018 school year. [3] It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. In 2012 and 2014, it was named one of the top 50 Catholic High Schools by the Cardinal Newman Society.
Sacred Heart Major Seminary is a private Roman Catholic seminary in Detroit, Michigan.It is affiliated with the Archdiocese of Detroit.. In 2016–2017, 107 seminarians, representing eleven dioceses and two religious orders were enrolled in classes, [1] along with 426 lay students (full and part-time). [2]
The school was formed in 1969 by a merger of St. Anthony High School (Detroit) and some other Catholic schools. In the 1970s it had about 900 students, its peak enrollment. The population decreased since the area's socioeconomic profile became more low income and as Catholic families moved outside of Detroit.
Cornerstone Schools is a system of charter schools in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It has four K-8 campuses and Cornerstone Health + Technology High School, all located in the city. [1] [2] They were first established in 1991.
