The National House is a hotel located at 102 South Parkview in Marshall, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. [1] It is thought to be the first brick building constructed in Calhoun County. [2] As of 2019, the building operated as a bed and breakfast. [3]

Lewisville Lake, formerly known as Garza-Little Elm Reservoir, is a reservoir in North Texas on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County near Lewisville. Originally engineered in 1927 as Lake Dallas, the reservoir was expanded in the 1940s and 1950s and renamed Lewisville Lake.
The club was founded as Dallas Sailing Club (DSC) in 1928 on White Rock Lake. [4] When White Rock Lake dried up in 1956, the Dallas Sailing Club, together with some members of the Corinthian Sailing Club decided to move to Lewisville Lake under the name Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club. [5]
The Emporium was constructed in 1847 for Dr. Andrew L. Hayes and Edward Butler. Hayes was one of Marshall's first settlers, and Calhoun County's first physician, having arrived in 1831. Businessman Edward Butler arrived in Marshall 1836, and operated a general store between 1840 and 1845.
Marshall is a city and the county seat of Calhoun County, Michigan. [5] The population was 6,822 at the 2020 census . Marshall is best known for its cross-section of 19th- and early 20th-century architecture and as the future home of Ford Motor Company's BlueOval Battery Park. [ 6 ]

A bridge previously connected Little Elm and Lake Dallas, but it was removed in the 1950s when the United States Army Corps of Engineers expanded Lewisville Lake. The old bridge provided a vital transportation link between Lake Dallas and Little Elm. [5] On August 1, 2009, a 5K charity run crossing the completed bridge was held.
