Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium (formerly Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World) is a public aquarium opened in 1985 in Auckland, New Zealand. Located at 23 Tamaki Drive, it was the brainchild of New Zealand marine archaeologist and diver Kelly Tarlton (1937–1985).
The rule of thumb is 1/2–1 lb. per 1 US gallon (0.2–0.4 kg per 4 liters). Many marine aquariums include a sump, which is an external container connected to the main aquarium with a water pump. In most setups, the sump is located below the aquarium and is fed water from the main tank via an overflow.

YVR includes other environmental indoor installations such as its indoor garden, aquarium, and a freshwater creek. [142] The 30,000 gallon salt water aquarium at YVR is home to about 850 samples of British Columbia marine life. There is also a 750 gallon jellyfish tank and a 60-metre long fresh water creek located nearby. [148]
By 1907, the aquarium had over two million annual visitors, or an average of 6,000 per day. [28] By January 1911, officials instead planned to expand Castle Garden, [29] [30] adding semicircular wings to the west and east for over $1 million. [30] [31] Each wing was to contain three tiers of tanks [31] and classroom space. [32]
