In April 2022, Castleford announced alternative plans to their new stadium project. The club would use £2m grant from Wakefield Councils Rugby League Resilience Fund and funds from the new employment site proposed at the site of the new stadium. The club would then build a new main stand and modernise and redevelop the 3 other existing stands.
