Benbrook is a town located in the southwestern corner of Tarrant County, Texas, United States, and a suburb of Fort Worth. As of the 2010 United States census , the population was 21,234, [ 4 ] reflecting an increase of 1,026 from the 20,208 counted in the 2000 census , which had in turn increased by 644 from the 19,564 counted in the 1990 census .
Walnut Creek is a creek in North Texas. The creek rises to the northeast of Keene in Johnson County , flowing to the Tarrant County near Mansfield . FM 1187 begins at Interstate 20 (I-20) west of Fort Worth, north of Aledo.The highway runs south to Aledo, where it intersects FM 5.Here, FM 1187 turns to the east. The highway turns back to the south and has a short overlap with U.S. Route 377 (US 377) near Benbrook Lake in the unincorporated community of Wheatland.

Benbrook Middle-High School (BMHS) is a combined middle and high school in Benbrook, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It is within the Fort Worth Independent School District. It is southeast of Westpark Elementary School and situated in a 175,600-square-foot (16,310 m 2) building on a 31-acre (13 ha) plot of land. [2]
Continuing northeast, the highway intersects with FM 2913 and FM 711, then passes a signalized intersection, acting as the western terminus of Loop 500, entering Center as San Augustine Street. In town, SH 7 has a junction with US 96 at Hurst Street, before reaching Center's town square, which is constructed around the Shelby County Courthouse.
The town of Edgecliff Village is experiencing a growth spurt, as the remaining 206 acres (0.8 km 2) of open prairie are developed for building single-family homes. After this area is built out, there is little open land for housing in the town. This area was held for many years by and purchased from the Hunt family of Texas.
The town gradually grew with cattle ranching as the mainstay of the local economy. The railroad came to the area in 1881, and the first public school was constructed in 1884.
