The Dale Hollow Reservoir is a reservoir situated on the Kentucky/Tennessee border. The lake is formed by the damming of the Obey River, 7.3 miles (11.7 km) above its juncture with the Cumberland River at river mile 380. Portions of the lake also cover the Wolf River.
Dale Hollow Dam, which creates the vast Dale Hollow Lake, lies along the Obey River just east of Celina. Tennessee State Route 52 passes through the city, connecting it with Red Boiling Springs and Lafayette to the west and Livingston to the southeast.
The city of Byrdstown and the Kentucky town of Albany, 11 miles (18 km) to the northeast, are positioned between two Army Corps of Engineers lakes: Dale Hollow Lake, mainly in Tennessee, and Lake Cumberland, in Kentucky. The Obey River is a 47.8-mile-long (76.9 km) [2] tributary of the Cumberland River in the U.S. state of Tennessee. [3] It joins the Cumberland River near the town of Celina , which is generally considered to be the Cumberland's head of navigation .
