AR 89's southern terminus is at an intersection with U.S. Highway 70 (US 70) near the western end of Lonoke.From there, it runs seven miles (11 km) north and west to Furlow, intersecting AR 15 and AR 294, then 8 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (13.7 km) miles north to AR 367 at Cabot, the largest city through which the highway runs.

Arkansas Highway 294 in Jacksonville. Highway 294 (AR 294, Ark. 294 and Hwy. 294) is an east–west highway in central Arkansas. Its western terminus is at an intersection with AR 161 in the city of Jacksonville. Its eastern terminus is at an intersection with AR 15 and AR 89 in the unincorporated community of Furlow.
The highway was created by the Arkansas State Highway Commission on April 24, 1963. [1] The first designation was from present-day Highway 193 east across Highway 1 and US 64C, to a point east of Wynne, where it turned southeast for 2.95 miles (4.75 km) to a county road. Highway 284 was extended west to Highway 39 (now US 49) on June 23, 1965. [6]
The route was created by the Arkansas State Highway Commission between Highway 21 and the Missouri state line on July 10, 1957. [1] It was extended south on November 23, 1966, between US 62 in Berryville and the Madison County line. [6]
