Burning Sensations was a short-lived Los Angeles area rock band. The group is best known for its MTV hit "Belly of the Whale", the music for which blends a rather unusual fusion of rock and calypso styles, and for covering the Jonathan Richman song "Pablo Picasso", which was included in both the 1984 film and soundtrack of director Alex Cox's Repo Man.
A native of Philadelphia, Courtney Cox started playing guitar around age 13.At 15, she enrolled at The Paul Green School of Rock Music.During her tenure there, she performed in U.S tours with acts including Jon Anderson and Adrian Belew, performing with such artists as George Lynch and Perry Farrell.
A music video for the single was directed by Joe Hahn, Linkin Park's turntablist. It was released in the United States to the Nielsen BDS adult contemporary indicator chart by February 2011 , although it was clarified by vocalist Mike Shinoda that it is an international-only single, [ 3 ] hence not charting in any Billboard charts.
Gillespie has described the album as an anarcho-syndicalist speedfreak road-movie record. [2] It is named after and inspired by the 1971 film Vanishing Point, especially the song "Kowalski", which is meant to be an alternative soundtrack of the movie.
